What's the best way to get to Sardinia?
Sardinia has three airports through which you can reach the island, which are more or less busy depending on the season. Cagliari Airport is recommended for the south coast, from which it is also easy to get to Ogliastra. Olbia-Costa Smeralda Airport, on the other hand, serves the whole area of Olbia and the northeast coast of the island, while the west coast is mainly served by Alghero Airport.

1) The plateau Giara di Gesturi and Nuraghe of Barumini
If you are amazed by the fauna, you must not miss the home of the Cavallini della Giara. These small wild horses, which are very rare to find, live on the Giara di Gesturi plateau in the southern inner area of the island. Between cork oaks and Mediterranean maquis, these almost extinct breeds can be found alongside numerous archaeological excavation sites, for example the Nuraghe complex by Barumini. Nuraghi are former defensive towers that rise like blunt cones in the landscape.
If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay, the Antica locanda Lunetta is recommended. In the middle of the picturesque old town of the small town of Mandas you can find this former coaching inn, which was renovated traditionally but according to the latest standards and lets the guest forget the hectic pace of everyday life.
2) With a yacht through beautiful waters

With 150,000 inhabitants, Cagliari is one of the largest cities in Sardinia. The airport is close to the outskirts. Life rages in the old town, especially from May to October. From the former defense complex Bastion San Remy, which has now been extended by a wide staircase, you have a wonderful view of both the sea and the city.
